"Thanks Gary and your Apprentice for installing my new split system air conditioner. I appreciate your friendliness, punctuality, and job quality. I am very happy with my new system!"
Shared buildings need air that keeps moving, from the basement carpark to the cafe kitchen and the public toilets. Lilac Air Conditioning installs and maintains exhaust systems for commercial, retail and strata sites on the Central Coast and Lake Macquarie, and corrects poor installs.
Commercial exhaust ventilation is the set of fans, ducts and outlets that remove stale, hot, damp or contaminated air from a building and discharge it safely outside. Lilac Air Conditioning installs and maintains it for shops, offices, cafes, medical suites and strata buildings, working to Australian Standards.
Most of the time nobody thinks about it. People notice when a carpark smells of fumes, when a kitchen leaks odour into the shop next door, or when the toilets stay damp all day.
Gary Lui at Lilac Air Conditioning treats exhaust as part of a building's air rather than an afterthought. It affects comfort, odour, damp and how well neighbouring tenants get along.
Vehicle exhaust builds up in enclosed and basement carparks, and mechanical extraction is how it gets cleared. A system is typically a set of fans, ductwork and outlets, sometimes with controls that decide when the fans run. Whether any particular carpark needs one, and how it should work, depends on its design and the rules that apply to it.
On an existing carpark Gary Lui checks that the fans run, that the ductwork and outlets are clear, and that nothing has been changed or blocked since the system went in. A fan that has quietly died is easy to miss, and often easy to correct.
Commercial kitchens and public toilets are the other two big users of exhaust. Kitchens need fans, ducting and replacement air sized for the cooking equipment, covered in more detail on the kitchen exhaust page. Amenities need steady extraction so moisture and odour don't build up behind the walls.
In retail strips and strata buildings these often share ducts or risers. Gary looks at how the system connects before suggesting any change, because shifting one fan can affect its neighbours.
The free on-site assessment is a walk through the building.
Some systems were never right: ducts too small, outlets facing the wrong way, fans in places nobody can reach. Lilac Air Conditioning corrects these, with a written fixed-price quote and the work carried out to Australian Standards.
Planned maintenance keeps the rest running. Visits cover the fans and their motors and belts, the filters, the controls and the outlets, and Gary talks you through what he finds. That's useful for facility managers and strata committees alike. Work in occupied buildings is planned around trading hours, with evenings and weekends available.
Free on-site assessment. No obligation. Gary replies within a few hours on business days.
